Welcome to the It's No Secret websiteUnderstanding the DegreesOnce a candidate is approved, he participates in a ceremony called the "Degree of Entered Apprentice", or "First Degree". The moral principles, ethics and values of Freemasonry are revealed to him in this ceremony. A candidate learns more about the symbols and philosophical basis of the Craft in the “Second Degree”, known as the “Degree of Fellowcraft”. Our highest rank in the Blue Lodge is the “Third Degree”, the “Degree of Master Mason”. At this level a Mason will receive further explanation as to his specific duties to his Brethren and his instruction in the working tools of a Mason is completed. Learning does not cease once the Third Degree has been reached: from here the personal and fulfilling journey of each Freemason continues throughout life.
